Jojoba Oil is a serious multi-tasking oil and one of the critical ingredients in Folli Oil products.
It's actually a wax, not an oil, produced from the seeds of the Jojoba plant. Native Americans of the Sonora Desert held it in high regard for its cosmetic properties and apparent ability to heal the skin.
It's a light-feeling oil but deeply hydrating, and full of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that are integral to your skin's health.
It moisturises, soothes and softens your skin.
It reduces water loss on the upper layer of the skin (known as transepidermal water loss) and can penetrate the lower layers to keep your skin soft and supple.
One of the reasons it's such a potent moisturiser is because its chemical composition is very similar to sebum, our skin's natural oil. For this reason, it balances our body's oils by tricking the skin into thinking it has produced enough oil, it's, therefore, non-comedogenic and won't clog your pores.
It's excellent to nourish dry, chapped lips and boosting your skin's glow, particularly if your skin is dry or dehydrated.
It can relieve sunburn, eczema and fade fine lines
It contains Vitamin E, a strong antioxidant, which helps fight off free-radicals and repair cell damage. This reduces inflammation and speeds up cell regeneration, making Jojoba oil an excellent treatment for sunburn and inflamed or compromised skin conditions such as eczema
It's beneficial for acne
Jojoba oil can help to reduce acne by controlling oil production and acting as a protectant and cleanser. It's also rich in iodine, which fights bacterial growth that can lead to breakouts.
It moisturises hair and can promote hair growth.
Thanks to the fatty acids and other vitamins and nutrients, Jojoba oil is a wonderful treatment for your hair and can be used to protect it from dryness, breakage and split ends. The high concentrations of Vitamins B and E and zinc and copper are essential to hair growth, making strands healthier and less likely to fall out.
